The perspective does look a little weird as we only had one 3D model done and I pasted, but I guess it gives you an idea of what our set-up will look like.

SHEFFIELD INDOOR SATURDAY MARCH 3RD

Hi all, 2 weeks today and we are looking forward to seeing most of the team at the final indoor race of the season. It sadly been a poorly supported event by the bmx crowd. Forcing Dave Taylor to look at the worth of this facility for next season.A real shame i feel. Dave and Co have done a geat job getting and keeping this running.
Anyway lets do our best to support this final round. Vans and Ultimate pursuits are giving some prizes as well as Dialled Bikes so its worth going for it.

You should recieve most of the team kit before or on the day. We are looking at printing the shirts this week. We had a shipment of Fenwicks bike cleaner so everybody can have a sparkling bike!!
Hope to see some of you there, best wishes Mike

Report: Arran on TV

The BBC were filming a piece for Level Up, a Children’s BBC programme to be aired at Easter, where six children were going to have a go at BMX racing for the first time.

The temperature at Andover BMX track never rose above 2 degrees Celsius, so “jazz hands” were the order of the day to keep the fingers warm!

Lewis ‘Wingman’ Lacey and Arran ‘Hollywood’ Shrosbree gave them a display, to rival the Red Arrows, before Arran had to pass on some riding skills to his new recruits. The day finished with a race between the boys and the girls!

Most of the children didn’t want to go home. All they wanted to do was ride the bikes round and round the track, which is encouraging!

Level Up will be on BBC2 from April 2nd, every morning at 9am.

Thanks to Chas Shrosbree for the reports and pics.

ps/ Arran is wearing a simplified version of the race shirts the team be wearing this season, without the co-sponsor logos - we had it done for the TV shoot. Shirts go to print next week - team riders will have kit before next Sheffield Indoor on Saturday March 3rd which we are encouraging everyone to attend.

Alans Bmx indoor race winners

Hi all heres some shots of the Indoor today, our Bradley had a cracking race with Abbey Taylor and came out tops after some death defying moves by both of them on the berms! maybe the berm weve done in training sessions helped? well done Bradley, hard luck Abbey! great racing though.

Arran rode brilliantly to get first place. Good work mate.I knew you could do it.
The track is riding real nice. just a shame more of the bmx community couldnt turn up to support such a great facility.

Fair play to the mountain bike crew they where out in force and had fun.

I got murdered in the motos, but fell in my 2nd race and got a third in my 3rd race in the 19+ class to not make the semis. There no motivator like losing in my book!

A big thanks to Dave Taylor an crew for putting in the hard graft and making this all happen. see ya soon Mike

Vans onboard

Hi just to let everyone know we have officially signed the team with Vans shoes as a co-sponsor for the 2007 season. They will be supplying us with shoes, clothing, promotional material etc. We are delighted to welcome a company with such a great history in Bmx and Skateboarding to the number one team.
Keep a lookout for the press release in the coming days.

Some history on Vans shoes:
Vans shoes was founded by Paul Van Doren with a simple idea; to make shoes and sell them directly to the public instead of using a middleman. Paul moved west to Southern California with his partners, Jim Van Doren, Gordy Lee and Serge D'Elia. The first official day of business was March 15, 1966, when the first Vans shoe store opened in Anaheim, California. They offered three styles of vans shoes on that first day, but had only made display shoes. The racks on the wall were stacked with empty boxes to help make it look like a shoe store.
Twelve customers came into the Vans store that morning and picked out the style and color of shoes they wanted. But they didn't have any shoes in stock so Paul and Gordy asked the customers to come back in the afternoon to pick up their shoes. They rushed back to the factory and made the shoes. When the customers returned in the afternoon to pick up their shoes, they needed change for their purchases. Paul and Gordy hadn't thought of this and didn't have any change available. So, they just gave them the shoes and asked them to come back the next day to pay for them. All 12 customers showed up the following day to pay for their shoes.
The first Vans old skool shoes had a diamond pattern in the sole across the entire bottom of the shoe. Vertical lines were then added later to make it stronger, a design which is now vans proprietary waffle sole. In 1976, skateboarders and skaters began wearing Vans shoes and asked to have different colors combined on them. In march 19, 1976, Vans came out with the first Era in red and blue vans authentic shoe. This shoe was designed by two professional skaters, Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. That craze spread across the nation when Jeff Spicoli, a California surfer dude in the hit movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", wore a pair of Vans checkerboard slip ons.
The Vans footwear collection now features over 60 styles ranging from classic deck shoes and slip-ons to high performance skateboard shoes, snowboard boots and sandals.

remember you can get vans from us at Alans whatever your style or size
