Alansbmx.com/shimano DXR maintains the points lead.
Hi, its been a while since the blog was updated due to Alansbmx.com moving premises. The whole team was in Peterborough this weekend and competing in the newly rescheduled double national. Saturday was wet and then wetter! making the excellent track a little soggy in places.Sunday thankfully was dry and bright and the track produced a crackings days racingFull marks to all the Peterborough team for making it an enjoyable national.
This is how i remember it and displays that stuck in my mind.
I was there at 745am setting up ezups and getting team paddock together helped by my Dad and Andy Green, Dave Deakin (thanks guys). We had practise from 930am and the racing kicked off at 1600pm. We had a total of 4 x 1st places on Saturday and two on Sunday an excellent days racing.
Lewis Hipkins won his semi final and came 8th in his main after a little bad luck. Sunday dawned dry and bright,Lewis again made the A main and this time produced a determined display to finish 5th. Well done Lewis. He is getting ready to represent his country and Alansbmx.com in the world championships in Canada Early July and racing up and age group to get some competition.
Mr Jack Clarke our new signing Jack just gets better and better with each race. A powerhouse, Jack won his second ever national against his big rival Mr Orena. Well done Jack! Keep smiling mate.
Bradley Minns racing two classes got a 3rd in the 20" saturday and a 2nd Sunday (the 11/12s is probably pound for pound one of the most competitive classes). He then won his cruiser on Both days. Bradley your brilliant. Love those yellow and black vans to!
Charlotte Green is awesome! 13-15 year old girls was one of the only ladies out of the whole female classes jumping the stepup!! A testament to how good she is getting. Charlotte produced two great displays for two first places.
Alex Deakin made the mains in two classes and ended up with an excellent 3rd in the cruiser and 6th in the 20" class.
Katie Roberts was 5th in her main and got a 3rd on Sunday, well done Kate.
Warren WOZZA Bancroft was in a stacked Elite mens group with Jamie Staff racing, Joey Bradford (american factory GT whizz) Lawrence Powerhouse Mapp, Kelvin Batey on fire! He made the a final on both days and got 5th Saturday and a 4th on Sunday. Wozza was right up there in the mix. This class is so tight one slip and your out. Well done the Android!! Can i have a bag of your skills please?
Now for the Pardon. I raced two classes Saturday I crashed on my cruiser after a chain jumped off but won the main. Ouch i was sore saturday night. The masters was pretty good fun i ended up 4th after my skills let me down again! Sunday i just raced msters and slipped on the gate ended up dead last and reeled em in to get a hard fought 3rd.
Thanks to all who helped out over the weekend to all our sponsors.Where would we have been without the excellent Fenwicks bike cleaner? The DXR equipped bikes worked perfect, tioga tyres gripped sweet, Thor gear(two sets)did the job.Gusset seats/Odi grips all stayed on despite difficult conditions. Giro helmets are becoming way more noticable in the paddock! Vans shoes for giving us the grip to do the business. Be Well sports nutrition for fuelling us all through a long day. Cheers Guys
Well done to all the team riders, we are holding the lead points wise in the BCF standings.Lets keep this up for the two remaining nationals.
You can See the Alans DXR team at Coppull national 30th June/1st July.
My parting thought: what would half the paddock do with out using Alans facilities?
adios Mike

I think we all need to thank Mike for the huge amount of work he puts in to get all the equipment to the races (2 days loading and 2 days unloading) also without Mike the team riders would not enjoy the huge amount of support he gives everyone during the weekend. Mike is awesome and huge thanks for all you are doing.
Andy, Martyn and Charlotte
