ALANSBMX AT THE BRITS 2010

The Team has just returned from the BRITS at Cheddar with a haul of trophies from both the National Series and the Champs themselves.
For the first time, we do not have a National Champion, but Jordan and Jenny were 2nd in their Championship Finals. Bradley was 3rd on Cruiser and 4th on 20in. Izzy mirrored her 7th place in the Championship National Series with another 7th in her final.
With such a small Team in 2010 following rider retirements and injuries, the Team has done Alan proud (it's his birthday today!!!). All the riders thank Alan and the Team at Wigan together with all the sponsors for their help in 2010. Thanks guys!

JENNY WINS BMX 9th NATIONAL OF 2010

All in the AlansBMX RaceTeam knew Jenny would win in 2010...we just didn't know when!
National #9 at Gosport sorted that. Then on the Sunday in National #10, Jenny just missed the win in a photo finish. Watch out. Jenny is back!

AlansBMX riders back from injury? Brad (broken elbow)...Jordan (broken wrist)...4th and 2nd in their Finals. Izzy in Championship, 5th on Saturday and 7th on Sunday (after a crash). Still only 14 and racing against World #1 and #3 riders in her final! We have become a small Team...but all riders are the BEST.

Picture is of our three TeamManagers...not sure who is the boss, but Bob should be sacked for not wearing a TeamShirt. Mind you, he has been looking after an impatient son who just wanted to get on his bike!

2011 BMX RACEBIKES SEEN IN NORWAY

Seen at the European Championships were these top secret BMX bikes for the 2011 season. There is no truth in the rumour that Alan is considering these for the RaceTeam in 2011. The idea of mixing 20'' and 24'' Cruiser wheels is original although the rise of the bars seems excessive. The map table could be useful when learning new tracks. The white cover over the rear wheel also looks useful to stop flared trousers and skirts getting tangled up.

The other picture shows the bikes on the gate...but they seem to be short of riders!

TeamRider Izzy has just returned from the European BMX Championships held in Sandnes, Norway. An amazing track! It was built in 4 days in a car park in the centre of town. On the same day as the final race, it was due to be dismantled!
There was also no admission charge and Izzy could walk to the track from the Hotel!
Izzy was riding with the British Cycling Team GB raceshirt.

Izzy started well with 3rd in her 1st Moto, but a crash on the cobbled 1st berm (yes, cobbles!!!) in the 2nd dropped her down in the points and she just missed out on the Final. Understatement to say that Izzy was disappointed, particularly after 4th place in 'Championship' at Manchester a few days before.

BMX NATIONALS 7 & 8 MANCHESTER

AlansBMX Race Team seems to be getting smaller! Just when Bradley is ready to race again....Jordan goes and breaks his wrist. Alan and all at Wigan + all in BMX wish Jordan a speedy recovery. Have a thought for Tony and Tania dealing with a restless kid! Real pity as Jordan had just had his first 2010 Final win. Racing, eh!

Izzy had big crashes in the Motos and the Final in Championship on Saturday. 'Jizzy' made up for it with 4th in the Final on Sunday, beating riders who have already won Nationals this year! Izzy says she is ready for Norway....

Bradley decided to race only 20'' on Sunday as his elbow is not really healed...and hurt like hell! All riders rode to 4th places in their Finals. Well done all!

TEAM RIDER ENTERED FOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

AlansBMX TeamRider has entered the European Championships to be held in Sandnes, Norway next month. Although yet to be confirmed by British Cycling, Izzy may be the only 14 yr old girl to represent GB at this event.

A great team performance from our three #1 riders at the Braintree Nationals. Highlight of the weekend was Jordan's win in 13 yr old boys. Definitely gets the 'ARoD' (Alans Rider of the Day Award)!

Jenny rode strongly all weekend, always in the top 3 and beating the current Series
leader in one of her motos. Confidence is building.

Izzy borrowed Bradley's 175 DXR cranks for the weekend. Izzy missed out on the Main on Saturday, but an extra tooth on her Renthall made her fly on the Sunday, with 7th place in the Championship Main. Thanks to Alan for sending new cranks so promptly to Izzy this week.

Bradley was at the meeting, still recovering from his Derby crash. He hopes to be racing at the Manchester Nationals. Bob had better fit the cranks then!

The new Team 'Ten Commandments', or rules, seem to be having an effect. Note all race bikes in front of the Tent all facing out! Alex forgot to bring the 'RacerTable'
to Braintree so the riders are forgiven for leaving their kit lying around. No Weetabix for Alex tomorrow.

AlansBMX is a popular Team. After the racing at Nationals, the AlansBMX Youth Club always seems to convene in the Tent. You can see the sidescreens have already been taken down, but do the riders notice, move or even care!!!!! Kids, eh! Interesting that the riders that call in are all top #1 riders. Even our visitors are #1.

Here are images of one of the Team bikes (Izzy's). Just after completion (at night) and a few days later at the SportsAid presentation where the BMX was on centre stage.

The Team also has a new RidersKitTable. Thanks to Jamie of 'Playstreet' for designing this. Last year it was black..this year it's white. Now all Dave Deakin has to do is make sure that the Racers use it!!!!

ALANSBMX AT DERBY NATIONALS 3 & 4

First and most important, Bradley had a crash at Derby badly damaging his elbow. A 2 hour operation followed and he is now back at home. Everyone in the RaceTeam wish Bradley a full recovery. Knowing him, he will be back very soon! Our thoughts also go to Bob and Jane who will have to cope with a restless son for a while!

The previous Cheddar blog noted that it has been a hectic start start to the season. Too right it has! We have welcomed a new rider Jordan Hatcher and then at Derby the Team was decimated by injuries, illness and non-appearances so that we only had 3 riders on the Sunday in National #4...but what a trio! In the photo you will see that they all carry #1 Plates. Top riders. Top Team.

Although ranked #1 by British Cycling in the 13-14 Girl category, Izzy has been given Special Dispensation to ride up 2 classes in the Championship class - the top Female category. In the 4 Nationals so far, she has made the Final and is currently lying 7th. Highlight has been Izzy and Shanaze side by side on the gates in Derby practice. Jenny is the youngest in 13-14 Girls but is up there with the 14 year olds. Wins will come very soon. Jordan is in the most competitive BMX class and he is always up there. It's a long season and he will be right up there at the end.

On the Friday before the Derby Nationals, Izzy was presented with a Sponsorship Award by SportsAid. This will enable Izzy to take part in the Euros in Norway in July. Her new Supercross was on display on the stage. Never raced - it was pristine! There were 150 invited guests and Izzy was one of only 2 sportgirls to receive an award.

The Team at Derby has grown to like the new racekit and 2010 raceparts - Renthal chain rings are popular! Bradley will be spectating at the next Nationals at Braintree and we hope to see Luke and Warren there. The Team may be small at the moment, but it is all quality!

Chedder Report: Deaks

The Team Manager/ Mechanics point of view:-

After much behind the seen activity the team arrived at our tent with
expectations of a goods days racing. Introductions all round to Jordan
Hatcher who has joined Alans after great success with Dialled Bikes last
year. Then disappointment ....no new frames!! The new Supercross frames had
been held up in California by that there volcanic dust. Just had to polish
up the last years bikes and keep smiling. Jordan ,as a temporary measure
was give a Redline Flight to tide him over, all tricked out with Shimano
DXR Hubs, Cranks, Brakes, and running the ever popular Tioga Power Block
tyres. First brand new bike he's ever had and he loved it as his results
were to prove. Lots of minor mechanical issues to sort , Brake cable
changes, adjusting chain tensions etc pursued. A few riders noticed the
Renthal Chain Sprockets amongst the spares and duly request them to be
fitted. The new kit from THOR was a bit of a surprise as it was different
from what was expected. Saying this everyone thought it looked cool and on
the track stood out from the rest. Matching BELL helmets finishing off the
professional look. Off to the moto's:->>

Brad
Raced really well on Both Cruiser and 20". After a big Crash as
normal just got up brushed himself down and got on with it 3rd in both
finals

Jordan
Loved the new bike had a battle with Jimmy Orena both days, he's a
great racer and wiped the board on Day 2 with a Win in the final

Jenny
On the top of her class both days unlucky not to win the finals with
two 2nd places

Alix
Good fast racing at the top of his class,smoked the moto's, through
to the finals both days , but things did not go well and ended up 5th in
both mains

Izzy
A big challenge doing the championship but she did not let us down
giving a gritty performance against girls older than her, she caused a few
surprises!

Luke
In amongst it Both days, super fast and brilliant to watch

I was really excited to get back into the national series and as you know I moved up an age group so I was apprehensive about the competition J All of the team (apart from wozza) turned up including the new member Jordan who loves his bike! The track was riding really fast, especially the first straight so I was able to jump and manual J the bike felt very stable in the air and also on the ground! The alans tent was full of atmosphere as usual, being full with team riders and parents and charley even came back for a visit J I really enjoyed racing in the motos getting 1st, 3rd, 2nd and getting 3rd in the final.

On the second day I got 1st, 1st, 1st in the motos, 1st in the semi and 2nd in the final so I am looking forward to many battles during the year J I liked my kit, especially the trousers having longer legs, the shirts being thinner so it will be better in summer and the gloves are really comfy. I like my helmet especially after Dave the mechanic stickered it up J

Well...not in the Finals, but many Moto wins thanks to Bradley and Izzy!

Jan 24-25 2010 saw the Belgium Open International and Belgium National (Indoor) Championships....Indoors. 900+ riders. Rained all weekend, didn't matter, lots of dust, though!

On Day 1, Bradley absolutely flew on his Cruiser but crashed in his Semi- but made up for it with 7th in the Final on his 20''. On Day 2, it was Finals all the way and strong 5th and 6th places against the best in Europe.

Girlracer? Izzy...against best 29 riders in Europe...Finals on both days...3rd and 4th. GoodOne!

The East Anglia Regional Championships took place at Norwich on 27th September. In brilliant late summer sunshine (nearly October!!!), team riders Brad Minns and Izzy Ferrada took part and won their Finals. Brad won on 20' and Cruiser. Izzy won 13-15 Girls.

Brad commented that he only took part to win the prize money! Izzy wanted to win not just for the prize money, but the cash for the 'Holeshot' competition...sponsored by her Dad! She won that as well!

Chicksands 4x

Charlotte dipped her big toe into the 4x world last Saturday and got absolutely soaked. The first run on a new bike, in a new sport, on an unknown track was a little slow but after an hour of practice she was smoothing down the course.

Racing on Sunday kicked off at 1pm and charlotte's first run turned into a moto win. There then came 3 more of the same beating the second placed female rider in the series.

Finals time and Charlotte got the snap and proceeded to tear it up taking a convincing win in round 7 of the 2009 4x series.

IZZY WINS FINAL ROUND OF EA SERIES

The final round of the East Anglia Summer Series took place at Royston on 6 September. Going into these final races, Izzy was 5th in 13+ Boys. To have a chance of winning, she would have to ride her little socks off.

And she did! In her Motos, she was 1st, 5th and 2nd....and in the Final she flew to an emphatic win. When the points were added up, even though she had beaten the eventual champion, Izzy was placed 2nd in the Series. Well done!

TEAM MATES BEWARE!

Just back from holiday in Mallorca (Avent never got sunburn on the seat - wonder why?),

Izzy took part in the South Summer Regional 8 on Sunday for practice before this weekend's Nationals. All alone in the Team Tent!

Now able to put up the Tent on her own (bless her!), Izzy flew all day leading the 13 yr boys Final all the way - but just missed out on the win at the line.

The 1st Berm has been 'resurfaced' with tarmac stones 20mm not 6mm (so we've been told). Very bumpy and slippery with the oil seeping out. Lots of hard crashes. Have also been told it will be sorted..this Friday!...day before the races...when the USA pros are doing training...and riders arrive. Should be a busy day for the Bournemouth crew.

Highlights of the Regional? Watching the Air Display with Red Arrows, the ONLY Vulcan bomber, Lancaster flying alongside a Spitfire, etc. Izzy asked about the Lancaster...I told her.

I asked how she would feel with 100 of them flying over you with the bomb doors open........for once, Izzy was silent.

TEAM SIZZLES AT SOGGY MANCHESTER

Team riders Jack, Bradley, Izzy and Jenny took part in the Manchester Regional as a practice session before National 7 & 8. Luke was there, but feeling poorly (and fending off 'swine flu' jokes!). Charley and Wozza were sorely missed.
Jenny got to grips with her new bike with 3rd her highest place in the Motos and a strong 5th in the 12 Boys Final.
Bradley was back to his best with a close 3rd in his Final. Welcome back..again, Bradley!
Jack came 2nd in his Final...but didn't make an appearance in the Team tent! All those girls are a bit daunting!!!
Izzy sizzled in the rain and won her Final in 13 yr boys - that raised a few soggy eyebrows.
But...ARoD (Alans Rider of Day)...has to go to Steve Noble...given a one day pass to join the Team, he rode his (wet) socks off to win a stacked 'B' Final. Dad's Rule OK!

Jen's dad just sent me a note about here new Envy build:

Here are some pictures of the bike. Jenny says that it is very stable when riding it. She finds it gates really well, and because it is light it is really nice to manual and jump. She has taken a liking to the renthal bars which she finds do not flex and as for the Tioga seat she just loves it. It is comfortable when she is sitting on it when she is warming up or cooling down and it does not get in the way when riding it.

I found it really easy to build the bike up, with the headset a particular pleasure not having to fit any cups.

Last week Charlotte Green was in Denmark competing in the Euro Champs in Frederica. On Sunday the racing started at 9.45 and hopes were high for a good result. Race 2 and Charlotte blasted out of the gate to take a very convincing moto win. Other moto results where 2nd and 1st. The semis followed 1 1/2 hours later and Charlotte made it into the main with a solid 3rd place. The finals followed 20 min's later and still on a high from getting through, she had a very poor gate which left her in 8th over the first jump. Charlotte's skills and tactics got her back up to 6th when she crossed the finish line.

Charlotte said,

"The event was immense and I will do better next year. I must thank Alans bmx for their support and thanks to all my sponsors"

The venue was Cheddar, the event 2009 European championships rnd 13 & 14, the competitors Jenny Noble, Izzy Ferrada,Charlotte Green Luke Tamblyn and Alex Deakin.

What an awesome weekend the team had. Pictured above Luke Tamblyn ripping apart 17 - 24 on Saturday, one of the teams excellent results. 5th on Sunday. Tough class.

Jenny won every race on

Saturday and came an excellent 2nd on Sunday in her debut in euro racing.

Izzy was in superb form to take her maiden euro win on Saturday but a blowout and fall in the first moto on Sunday knocked her confidence, finished 4th but still an impressive performance.

Charlotte got pushed wide on the final straight on Saturday while challenging for 3rd and ended up 7th over the line. On Sunday after a bad gate she pulled back to 4th. Alex Deakin made the main on both days 7th on day 1 and 8th on day 2. Well done to the team and special thanks to Dave Alex Nigel and Steve for your help.

Oldskoolers amongst you will remember Renthal's last foray into BMX in the 80's when they sponsored the Ammaco Mongoose team. Anyhoo, Ison Distribution sent us a couple of pairs to try and these arent actually all that different from the originals. Luke and Jenny will be trying these out after Cheddar and we'll post some feedback here.

Peterborough rounds 5 + 6

It was really good to see Bradley Minns back at the nationals for the Peterborough double header and we understand he will be racing the rest of the season.The

weather forecast looked grim and overnight Friday it rained all night. Practice was very soggy but by lunchtime and with a dry morning the track had dried and firmed up. Through the motos the results where very promising for the team. Nothing worse than 3rd all afternoon.

And so to the finals and Jenny Noble rode

to a comfortable win in 10-12 girls on Saturday and an uncharacteristic 3rd on Sunday.

Bradly did a great job to get 4th in 13-15 cruiser on Saturday, went 1 better on Sunday with a 3rd. 8th in the 20" for Saturday and 7th on Sunday.

Izzy Ferrada took a tumble in the first turn when she was challenging for the lead and finished 8th on sat but much better on Sunday after leading for 1/2 the lap finished 3rd. She is going to win that class before long.

In the stacked 11 - 12 boys class Jack Clarke had a solid if uneventful weekend finishing 4th on Sat and an excellent 3rd on Sunday.

Jnr Female on Saturday saw Charlotte Green missing the gate, getting boxed on the 1st straight and recovering to come 3rd and on Sunday normal service was resumed with a gate to tape win.

Elite Male on day one saw Luke Tamblyn ride a great lap to 4th but on Sunday Luke had a run off with Dan White for the last place in the Final. Luke had to settle for the B final and second.

The bikes, race kit and tyres all performed exceptionally well all weekend.The lack of problems only left us the task of cleaning the bikes which was made easy using Fenwicks bike cleaner. Huge thanks go to all our sponsors.

Team members Luke Tamblyn and Charlotte Green travelled with the BC talent team to compete at round 9 and 10 of the UEC BMX round 9 & 10 in Dessel, Belgium.

Over 750 riders attended the 3 day event and Luke and Charlotte rode well. Luke was riding male 17 -25 looking smooth and fast. He eased through the semis to the final which he led from gate to tape. Charlotte s moto placing where ‘s 3^rd, 2^nd and 2^ndin her semi she came 3^rd and In the final she rode a great lap to come 5^th. Round 10 on Sunday was not quite so successful.

Luke made the main again but could only manage a 3^rd. Charlotte got boxed in her semi on the first straight and could only manage a 6^th.

It was an amazing weekend with British riders all performing like we know they can. Well done to everyone who made the 1000 mile round trip to Dessel.

Alans BMX/Shimano DXR Team Report - BC Nationals Rounds 3 & 4 Burnham

Perfect weather again for the second double-header of the 2009 season. After a not-according-to-plan first rounds we moved up to the 6th in points standings with 4 wins, two 3rds, two 4th and two 5ths for the weekend. Our new rider in 10-12 girls, Jenny Noble, fitted right and and delivered two wins for us :)

Convincing wins both days in Junior Female. Charlie is also off to Belgium next week.

Warren only raced Sunday and still seems to be having problems with his knee that kept him out for the whole of last season.

Update on Izzy. Raced at the East Anglia Regional at Milton Keynes yesterday 3 May and won all her motos in 13 yr old boys. In the final, she unclipped (just like Derby!) and finished 4th. This unclipping will not happen again! Out of 146 riders, Izzy was
Nominated ‘Rider of the Day’. She absolutely flew all day.

Izzy raced for the 1st time yesterday on the Avent
at the Midlands v E Anglia Inter Regional at Derby…
a practice session for the first 2 Nationals on the Easter
weekend. There were 270 riders and Izzy raced in 13 yr old boys.
In her motos she came 3rd, crashed, 1st and then 2nd in the Final.

Busy month in February. Had 10 days winter training in Mallorca
with my trainer Lisa. A change to see the sun after snowy England!

Last weekend, I went up to see Alan and he presented me with my
2009 bike. Brilliant! I tested it along the corridors in the De Vere
Hotel that evening, where I picked up my National Series Award at
the Bolton Wanderers Reebok Stadium. Hope my practice starts
against the walls didn’t leave any tyre marks!

Got up early on Sunday…to go straight to Manchester BMX track
where I rode my Avent for the first time. Fantastic! Just brilliant!

Charlotte's Winter Training

Training with the talent team has been cold wet but fun this winter. Charlotte has been on the Marin and Penmachno trails in the snow before Christmas and just completed a week in and around Manchester which included a visit to the Works and the Fairfield North regional riding 16 boys and getting a 3rd in the final. We have also been to the Newport velodrome for a 3hr training session, different but very enjoyable.

Charlotte has been training hard for the coming season consisting of spin sessions, gym (including rowing machines), flat and downhill sprints, 30 mile road-rides and flatland skills.

In January we visited Belgium to take part in the Belgium National where Charlotte was placed 5th on the Saturday and 3rd on the Sunday. Promising results that Charlotte was very pleased with. We are now looking forward to the new season and really cant wait for a bit of warm sun the camping and getting reacquainted with the team.

Great to hear that Warren is back and on his bike and a warm welcome to Izzy.

This seasons Kit looks fantastic and once again huge thanks to Alan for putting together the bikes and equipment we will be using this year.

We can't wait to see you all again.

Me and Mark made the pilgrimage down to Milton Keynes for Madison's annual tradeshow, here's a few pics I took.

Bell Drop helmet, our BMX team will be using these this year, as the none-colour-blind amongst you will have noted, it matches our Thor gear.

Giro now make gloves. When I first saw these on the web I thought they looked good and even tried to order a pair for myself but they weren't in stock yet. So I had to check them out when they had them on display. Anyway, although there are a few models these two, the Xen and Remedy stood out. The Remedy (black/whitee) uses D30 padding while the Xen (orange/white) is a little more lightweight and I am not kidding you, this is the most comfortable gloves I have ever worn and I've been wearing MX gloves since 1976 (like these). These are expected later this month (March), check them out.

Alans BMX/Shimano DXR - British Champions!

After the success of BMX on the Olympics everyone was amped up for the British Championships at Peterborough - a one-off event separate from the National points series which crowns British Champions - plus a Team title up for grabs. A fantastic days racing was had, the event was superb, the atmosphere was as good as it gets - a big thank you to Peterborough Phantoms club for putting on such a great event.

Again with a minimal team of just 5 team our Alans BMX/Shimano DXR team out in a fantastic performance.

Kye Whyte
What can you say, he was pushed all the way by some very stiff competition, but Kye came away as a double British Champion in both 9 and 12 & Under cruiser.

Jack Clarke
Jack had a cracking final and brought us home a brilliant Second place.

Bradley Minns
A solid 4th in both 13s and 13-15 Cruiser.

Charlotte Green
Abbie Taylor moved from the Boys class to Junior Female just for this event to but Charlotte kept her honest, beating all her regular National opposition.

Luke Tamblyn
Junior Men was wide open at the beginning of the year, not any more. Like Kye, Luke also had some tough comp, but put together one of the most perfect races I've ever seen and came away as British Champion.

All our riders are now running Maxxis DTH tyres and we also tried out Fenwicks new lube (their bike cleaner came in handy in the morning as well).

Luke & Charlotte Talent Team training

Andrew, Charlotte's dad, took some pics at the BC Talent Team session at the new Manchester training track:

The supercross track start hill in Manchester was to wet to ride so the team concentrated on the 2nd straight and Pro line. Luke was the 1st in the country to jump the pro line and clear it All the other Elite riders haven't even looked at it. Pics are from flatfield's track in Manchester. The sprints were done in the Velodrome car park.

Race Report: Rounds 8 & 9 Burnham

A red hot Burnham-On-Sea hosted rounds 8 & 9 of the British Cycling BMX Championships and once again our five riders pulled out all the stops and extended our Alans BMX/Shimano DXR points lead further. Saturday night also a Euro race for Junior Men, Women and Elite.

First off we have to mention our Junior Men ace Luke Tamblyn who was blazingly fast winning the Euro race, collecting double points and now leads the series by 55 points. (By the way, Luke is the first of our team to use the new DTH Maxxis tyre to great effect, now our entire team run them).

Charlotte Green had to compete against European Jr Female riders and finished a strong third, still securing 1st place though (and double) points along the way beating all her regular rivals and sits a close second in points.

Jack Clarke finished the weekend in 11-12 class with a 4th & a DNF and sits 5th in points with his two locals tracks up next in the series.

Bradley Minns had good results both days in his two classes against some tough Euro opposition and leads 13-15 Cruiser class points.

Kye Whyte was up against some Euro opposition in 12 & Under Cruiser but came away with two second places and as usual won both days on his 20".

Next event: British BMX Championships Peterborough 23/24th August.

Team Report: Hartlepool

The BCF series moved to Hartlepool in the North East for Round 7 of the National BMX Series - and what an outstanding day our Alansbmx/Shimano DXR team had.

Starting out with our 9 year old, Kye Whyte. Kye asked us if he could race 12 & Under Cruiser - and his Supecross iS frame arrived Friday before the race, Alex our shop mechanic put it together and it was delivered to the event Saturday morning - but as he'd never rode that class before he wasn't going to race it, but after his mum couldn't get him off it they decided to give it a go. He won every race on it, check out his inside moves in the video of his final, it's not easy give up three years against 12 year olds. To back it up Kye won his 20" class as well. Way to go Kye!

Next up was Jack Clarke, Jack like Bradley is the younger age in a double age group (11-12) but rode another consistent solid race for the last podium spot.

Bradley Minns, backed up a second in Cruiser with his best place of the year in his 20" - 3rd, again no mean feat as 13-14 is a stacked class, in fact only 2 of the younger riders made the final. Well done Brad.

Charlotte Green made the huge trek up from Cornwall, but made it worthwhile comfortably winning Junior Female, and seems to have fully recovered from her broken tibia sustained only back in April.

Luke Tamblyn, our Junior Male hotshot, well what can you say, just watch the video. He gets in front on the first straight then just pulls away - this is no easy class either, full of 2012 hopefuls, his year is coming together great and we are stoked for him.

Four wins - the maximum you can score with a team and we did it with just five riders. At the end of the day we extended our points lead over second place to 35.5 points. Well done everyone!

Extra thanks go to Jack's parents Lewis & Lisa for taking the van up this weekend. Kye's mum Tracy also asked me to pass her thanks to Jac's mum and dad for the help they give on Sunday with the Peckham gazebo's, and to Charlotte's dad for the side plate for his cruiser.

With our Elite star Warren Bancroft out after his knee surgery we were down to just five riders as the BC National BMX series moved to Chesterfield for Round 6. This didn't stop us moving ahead on the Team Points race though!

Kye Whyte waxed 'em in 9's again and looked smooth as always. We are building a Cruiser for him which hopefully will be ready for Hartlepool.

Jack Clarke back from his wrist injury, looked good all day and picked up 3rd in 11's.

Bradley Minns made the main in the tough 13-14 group and won his Cruiser class again.

Charlotte Green, after a broken tibia at Cheddar, won Junior Female for the second time this year, taking it all in her stride.

After back to back wins at Mansfield, Luke Tamblyn couldnt quite get into the lead into the first turn and hadto make do with a solid second, he still leads the points though.

Tiayuan, China - May 28 - June 1 2008

Britain's Shanaze Reade has successfully defended her Elite women's World BMX title in Tiayuan, China. In the final she repeated her awesome destruction of the field last year with another jaw-dropping display of power and precision, blasting clear down the first straight and then controlling the race from the front as the other riders, with the notable exception of former Downhill star, Frenchwoman Anne Caroline Chausson, struggled to stay on the same straight.

Chausson fought for all she is worth and perhaps even closed the gap on Reade in the final straight, but the margin of the win was still very emphatic with Reade clearly cruising for most of the latter half of the race. New Zealander Sarah Walker was third. Earlier, Reade was just as in control of her Quarter and Semi-Final races. GB's other rider Joey Gough was eliminated in the Semi Finals.

A great on performance on Sunday by our team, especially as we were down to just 5 riders again (your best 4 score team points).

Luke Tamblyn
Luke won his first ever Junior Male event and we are so stoked for him, this is one of the toughest classes there is. Well done Luke! His win moved him up into 3rd in the points.

Charlotte Green
Unfortunately Charlotte crashed in practise and tangled with another rider, resulting in a broken tibia, but we're hoping that she will only miss the round.

Kye Whyte
Blitzed to 1st, looking smooth as always. 1st in points.

Jack Clarke
3rd in his final, but a DQ of another rider moved him up to 2nd, Jack's now sitting good 3rd the series points, 1 point behind 2nd.

Warren Bancroft
"Wozza" sat out the 1st two rounds due to his knee injury, but after an Asterisk knee brace supplied by our sponsor Madison Warren got the brace on Thursday and immediately felt at home with it and brought home a 2nd place in Elite Men. Without it he wouldn't have been able to ride. Elite Men run three finals, all to count he won two of the but got a bad gate in the second final and he could only get back to 6th. Has to been seen as a favourite now for the Elite Men title this year.
Warren just sent me this note:
I enjoyed the weekend, the Asterisk knee brace was very good, its rather weird to walk in but its not made for that purpose, but to ride my bike with it on i was very impressed. I did'nt even feel that it was on my leg while racing, I had no restrictions it was perfect and i would recommend it to anyone with a knee injury. my bike is running perfect as always i had no probs with anything. I love the kit and helmet it all feels great!! so i am very impressed with everything this season so far!

Bradley Minns
Bad luck on his 20", but a win in Cruiser. Second in points, just 5 off the leader.

Alix Deakin
Although only a part-timer Alix made the main in Jr Men and got a 7th.
