new supercross frames

Finally, after what seems like a million-year wait, the S-7 frames are here. Supercross set out to make the best BMX race frame possible, no expense spared - these aren't cheap, but if you are serious about racing you should be looking at these. Pro & up sizes will be available initially with smaller sizes to follow. This is the frame that our Supercross-mounted Alansbmx.com/Shimano DXR team riders Lewis Hipkins, Jack Clarke, Charlotte Green & Mike Pardon will be on for 2008
• The EVO series started off as our EVOLUTION line in 1996. Aluminum BMX frames were just starting to get popular and we were skeptical of Aluminum for serious BMX racing. SNAP magazine even included us in an article they did back then about 5 companies that were sticking with Cro-mo for BMX racing. Well we were skeptical, but we were curious as well, so we started doing some research on the heat treating properties of different aluminums, the tensile the yield, the durability factor of Aluminum for BMX frames. To say we learned a lot is an understatement and the EVOLUTION series or EVO as it is has been called for the last 5 years was born.

• Well the evolution continues as we are proud to introduce our Supercross EVO S-7 High Performance BMX racing frame. This frame is not for the casual racer, this is for the racer who is striving to be at the top, the World Champions, the Olympic bound, this is the frame for the World Best.

• The first question we get from everyone about the new Supercross EVO S-7 is "What is Scandium?" Well we could go into a long conversation that states it is an element in the Periodic Table (the 21st specifically) and that it is a rare natural element that is an additive to a base metal to increase the base metals strength. But we won't. If you want to read what Easton® our tubing supplier has to say about Scandium, click here for their PDF on the material. But what we can tell you is that we first starting playing around with the Easton Scandium tubeset about 2 and a half years ago and that Randy Roberts one of our A Pro's ( now reclassed to 28x after injuries ) was on one for a year and a half with no fatigue. And it only weighed 2.7lbs for a Pro XXL frame that a 250lb + rider was able to race, and ride trails on. And that Sammy Cools has won the 2006 UCI North American Championship on one, the 2006 Canadian National Title and the 2006 ABA Pro Spectacular. Her frame, a Pro XL, weighs in at 2.65lbs. Yes, 2.65lbs for a Pro XL frame, a 12 ounce or 3/4 of a lb weight savings of our regular aluminum EVO series. Over a 22% weight savings!

• All Supercross EVO S-7's feature Easton® SC7000 custom butted top and downtubes and a Easton® Ultralite Custom drawn seatmast. Titanium Brake posts area stock feature to further focus on the performance heritage of these frames and while the S-7 features the same CNC'd 3d dropout popularized on the EVO G6 and used on the EVO iS series it has a backside CNC'd releavement to shed a few extra grams. This bike is all about letting you perform at your absolute best.

• Colours are: Black/Polished, Blue/Polished, Yellow/Polished, Sammy Cools Pink/White, Sammy Cools Turquoise/White.
